Profile: The University of Arizona - The School of Information Resources and Library Science is an academic unit and professional school contributing to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences by focusing on the interchange between information and society. The School provides an evolving suite of research, educational, and applied programs.
Project 320 Multimedia Service: The University of Arizona - SIRLS hired Project 320 Multimedia to help in two areas: 1) create a new, energetic and focused identity and brand; 2) create communications tools that will help generate more student enrollments.
Create New Identity and Brand
SIRLS wanted to create a new identity that included characteristics of 1) a superior academic program , 2) an inviting Arizona climate and 3) professionalism.
Beginning first with the logo, we developed a series of 20 custom designs for review which included several appropriate color pallets. After revisions, SIRLS selected a final logo and color scheme that would influence their brand and identity throughout all other materials.
Create Communication tools that will help generate more student enrollments
Over the years, SIRLS had created various in-house promotional materials which they distributed to interested students by mail, at trade shows, in display stands or other. Often times, a packet of more than 40 pages of information would be mailed at a significant cost (mail cost and reproduction cost) and, arguably, a non-engaging format. In search of a cost effective and unique way to communicate a vast amount of information in a fun, exciting and easy to follow way, SIRLS turned to Project 320 Multimedia to create a webcard/brochure combination. While the brochure carries a condensed amount of information about SIRLS, the webcard includes more than 60 pages of additional information, viewable in a fun, interactive setting which includes custom graphics, music, flash animation, and more. Project 320 Multimedia's next step will be to reformat content and custom graphics created for the webcard, to be utilized as a new and very cost-effective SIRLS website.
Armed with a new identity, fresh communication materials, and a refreshed and focused message, SIRLS will be distributing the new brochure and webcard to prospective students. Serving as a dynamic information resource and key point of contact, the new website will complete a new and powerful communication system.
